Why this trust exists
Twenty-four hours a day, every day, care is what keeps the work going.
Kabir Kadre has lived as a quadriplegic for more than two decades, requiring around-the-clock personal care. Public benefits carry part of that weight; they do not carry all of it.
This trust closes the gap. It underwrites the caregiving, housing, and medical support that let Kabir devote his energy to founding and leading Open Field Awakening, and its response to the deeper crises of our time.
Kabir amazes me by his faith and resilience in the face of daily living challenges that are beyond daunting. He inspires me with his indomitable spirit and commitment to healing our world. He is at once fragile in body and unbreakable in resolve. I am moved to support his efforts in hopes that he can sustain his mighty purpose.

A word from our trustee
What is a trustee? It is in the name; a person who holds in trust the well-being of another.
My nearly 30-year relationship with Kabir began before he was injured. His mind was always ahead of others; seeing a future that others could not.
Now, after 24 years navigating quadriplegia with innovative approaches to care and human suffering, Kabir is stewarding Open Field Awakening; initiatives that can provide new avenues for human flourishing.
It is essential that the funds provided to the trust are carefully managed for the intended purpose. I come to the role with 40 years of experience overseeing international non-profit organizations. I consider it an honor to serve as fiduciary in this community of care that provides much light to the world.

We share a passion for human development and exploring the mysteries of existence, whether through various developmental models or the esoteric teachings of Sufism and Rumi. Kabir has been a guiding light during challenging times, helping me navigate the loss of my wife and overcome career obstacles.
He never ceases to amaze me with his unwavering faith and resilience amidst daunting challenges, accompanied by deep spiritual wisdom. His journey transcends merely overcoming physical limitations; it is a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit when aligned with a higher purpose. Despite his frail body, Kabir possesses a soul that shines with unyielding resolve and a profound connection to the divine.
